Research finds nerve damage in patients with fibromyalgia

Recently, several studies have examined fibromyalgia patients for small fiber neuropathy using a skin biopsy test to determine Epidermal Nerve Fiber Density (ENFD). The studies reported a decrease in ENFD in a subset of patients with fibromyalgia.

New upper extremity standard biopsy sites for diagnosis of small fiber neuropathy

Therapath has established normative values for two upper limb body sites for Epidermal Nerve Fiber Density (ENFD) and Sweat Gland Nerve Fiber Density (SGNFD). These new sites complement the existing standardized biopsy sites on the lower extremities.



United Healthcare signs Therapath Neuropathology to National Agreement to provide specialty neuropathology services to United Healthcare Members

Under the agreement, Therapath will work directly with the United Healthcare physician network to handle and process the pathology specimens at a fraction of the cost of non-participating pathology laboratories. In addition, the transaction will improve the turn-around time of results for both the patients and physicians.
